Win a Fairy Photoshoot with Pamper and Pose

Fairy Gab

We are introducing new fairy themed photoshoots and to celebrate we are giving away one of the first shoots for FREE. All you need to do is subscribe to our mailing list below. You’ll get bonus entries for sharing this post on social media via the buttons at the bottom of the post.

The winner will be invited to Studio G in Oldham during the next month to take part in a fairy photoshoot and will be given a free A4 mounted print from the shoot.

The small print: You must agree to the photographs being used anonymously to promote Pamper and Pose, Studio G Photography and our themed photoshoots. The shoot must take place before the end of October, at a time to suit both parties. The competition will close at midnight on Sunday 27th September. The winner will be announced here and on our Facebook page.

NB. The observant will notice that our fairy above is missing her wings. She is my footballing tomboy daughter. I was amazed she agreed to put on a pretty dress and pose for me, so I didn’t want to push my luck. THIS below is her more usual style. 🙂

UPDATED:

I processed another photograph from the shoot this morning and gave her some ‘virtual’ wings. Shhhhh, don’t tell her. 😉

What a week! Exciting times for Pamper and Pose

As the title of this blog says, this has been a very exciting week for Pamper and Pose so far. I have been named as a finalist in two major competitions. I am beyond thrilled to be recognised for both sides of my work, the make-up and the photography. I doubt I could be any more excited than I already am if I was to win either of the awards.

The excitement started on Tuesday when I discovered that one of my photographs is a finalist in Oldham Council’s Love Where You Live photography competition. I saw the competition advertised weeks ago and decided to enter a couple of my pictures. The one chosen as a finalist is below. It was taken during the community Jubilee party we had on my estate in Chadderton.

I don’t think it is any where near my best photograph, but I entered it because I thought it illustrated the great community spirit we have where I live, and although there are some photos in the competition with much more ‘wow’ factor, I believe the judges chose mine because it matches the spirit of the Love Where Y0u Live campaign. My photo has already been in the local paper and in a Council newspaper that goes into every home in Oldham. Voting is now open to find the winning image and if you would like to vote for me you can do so at http://www.oldham.gov.uk/photography-competition.

I was only just starting to come back down to earth when I found out I am shortlisted for Best Vintage Make-up at the Manchester Vintage Awards. One of my fellow nominees is the highly respected Bethany Jane Davies, so I am honoured to have my work  recognised in such esteemed company.

I am really excited about attending the awards evening next month, not least because I will be accompanied by my Lipgloss & Lenses partner, Jude Gidney, who is shortlisted as Best Vintage Photographer. Our friends and collaborators Dormouse and the Teapot, Saddleworth Shindigs and Limb Clothing are also up for awards.

If you would like to vote for any or all (please) of us, you can do so by following the link http://www.vintagemanchester.com/best-of-2012-awards/

In lieu of an acceptance speech (I’m not expecting to win, but that’s absolutely fine), can I just take this opportunity to thank my family, friends and supporters for their help in getting me this far. I can’t tell you how much it means to me.

Pamper and Pose Cocktail Anyone?

Always on the lookout for ways to add a bit of variety to my pamper parties, I couldn’t resist a purchase when I spotted this drinks fountain.

 Mocktail fountain

Yes, I know it is a bit cheesy, a bit tacky even, but I thought it might go down well with the young ladies whose parties I do, particularly the young Glitter Princess pamper parties. I set it up to have a play with it at home and the Minigees were immediately enthralled. The boy seemed to be as excited by it as his sister was. Gabrielle is usually a good barometer of what little girls like, so the ‘mocktail’ fountain has been duly added to the Pamper and Pose party menu. I will bring it to your party, set it up, fill it with your chosen drink and provide plastic cocktail or wine glasses for all the guests. I will then dismantle it, take it away and clean it. Abracadabra! A drinks party with no washing up.

I bought it to impress the younger girls I do parties for. I’m sure the teens would find it naff, but actually I kinda enjoyed playing around with it. All lit up it makes a nice centrepiece and it has got to be more interesting than a punch bowl. So, I think I might offer it as part of my ladies’ pamper party packages too.

Competition time!

All of which got me to thinking that perhaps I should design a Pamper and Pose cocktail to go in it. I feel a competition coming on. Add your suggestions to the comments section below. Tell me what is in your drink and what it is called. The best suggestions for a cocktail and a mocktail will each win a lush pot of soothing and nourishing organic lip balm in the flavour of your choice from Pamper and Pose’s cosmetics and skincare supplier, Inesse.
